Dry Needling in Mackay
Many people believe acupuncture and dry needling are the same. Although both are holistic, all-natural therapies that provide pain relief and both use very fine needles, the techniques are distinctive, and the basic philosophy supporting each method of care is unique.
If, after consultation and assessment, our doctor feels this therapy may be helpful, the procedure will be explained in depth, and after consent is received, your session may begin.

How It Works
During a dry needling session, also known as intramuscular stimulation, our doctor places filiform needles at trigger points in your muscle or areas of tight muscle bands. These points are generally hard or knotted, and the needles help release the tension, improve circulation, and promote pain relief.
Although the needle placement is typically much deeper in the muscle, most patients don’t even feel them. There may be some slight soreness or bruising after your session, but that’s temporary.
